Studio Policies and Ethos
To keep Wheelhaus a creative and respectful environment, all participants, members, and visitors are ask to follow these guidelines.
Booking and Attendance
- All participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Full payment must be received at least 1 day prior to the class start date.
- If you are unable to attend a class, the missed session cannot be rescheduled.
- In case of illness, rescheduling may be possible with a doctor's note. These instances are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellations and Refunds
- 14+ Days Notice: Cancellations are fully refundable.
- 7–14 Days Notice: Cancellations are 50% refundable.
- Within 7 Days: All sales are final beginning 7 days prior to the class start date.
Studio Community Ethics
- Cultivate a welcoming environment: We strive to be a supportive environment for all. Treat others with kindness, compassion, and empathy, and be mindful of the impact of your words and actions on others.
- Respect diversity: Our studio is a melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, and beliefs. Be respectful of this diversity and avoid making discriminatory or derogatory comments.
- Be honest and fair: If you are working on a collaborative project, be honest about your contributions and share credit equally. Avoid plagiarism or copying others' work.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully: When working with others, communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings or conflicts. Avoid using aggressive or confrontational language.
- Be open to feedback: It is common to receive constructive feedback on your work. Use it as an opportunity to learn and grow as an artist.
- Respect the environment: We often use materials that can be harmful to the environment. Be mindful of your usage and disposal of materials to minimize that impact.
- Be mindful of noise levels: Keep noise levels to a minimum to avoid disrupting other people's work or conversations.
- Practice integrity: Be truthful, honest, and transparent in your actions and interactions with others.
Workspace and Materials
- Keep your workspace and equipment clean. Wipe down all surfaces and put away tools immediately after use.
- Use only the materials you need. Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling guidelines to minimize our impact on the environment.
- Never touch or move someone else's artwork without explicit permission. Be mindful of the space and equipment others are using.
- If you are unsure how to use a tool or need help with a project, please ask the studio manager or an experienced artist for assistance.
Open Studio for Class Participants
- Open studio hours are for independent practice. No 1-1 instruction is available during these times.
- For Intermediate students, open studio access coincides with your specific class start and end dates.
- Stations and equipment must be cleaned and returned to their places prior to the start of the next class. Note: This requirement is waived only if you are attending the consecutive class.
