The absence of colour objectively creates a background that makes flowers appear more dramatic, highlights their intricate details and vibrant colours and creates a sense of depth. Most importantly it minimises distracting elements by absorbing light and hiding shadows, resulting in a focused, elegant composition.

By absorbing light and softening contrast, the forms create a calmer visual atmosphere where texture, proportion and silhouette emerge gradually. The result is a balance between sculptural presence and subtle elegance, where both the object and what it holds are given equal importance.

Focusing on flowers by isolating the subject. The collection is titled "Absent" because of the matte black colour and the feeling an empty vase invokes as it sits in the room beckoning from the void.
