The owner of Wheelhaus Studio GmbH sits in the back of the ceramic studio. Pottery wheels are in the center of the room and tools are hung on a pegboard against the far back wall where the owner sits.

Alexander

Working as an artist is important to me. From an early age, I have always had a passion for creating art, and that passion has only grown stronger over time. Growing up, my parents' life and work brought me to different parts of the world, exposing me to diverse cultures, art, and some of the world's wonders. It was during this time that my infatuation with creating art began to blossom. This passion eventually led me to pursue a degree in the Fine Arts from John Abbott CEGEP/College, and after graduating, I continued to hone my craft, obtaining a Bachelor's in Fine Art from NSCAD University. In the early days of my art career I focused mostly on painting, drawing, and sculpture. As I progressed, so did my love for ceramics.

Ceramics are beautiful because it exists as art differently than a painting does. You should not touch a painting, whereas ceramics are made for it. A vase remains active once it is finished, its soul attached to its function. It lives as an extension of its owner, to carry what can be expressed without words. It changes and moves.

In this section, you will find recent artworks that are made by me, Alexander.
